NewRefinery Project:
BPCL plans to set up a new refinery with a capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum (MTPA)
Potential locations under consideration include Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat.
The project aims to expand BPCL’s refining capacity to 45 MTPA by FY 2029.
This decision follows the cancellation of the Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals (RRPCL) project due to environmental and local opposition.
BPCL’s focus on both petrochemical production and sustainability will be crucial as the project progresses.
