The quacks that woke me this week were not pond-side nursery sounds.

They were premium.

Executive quacks. Peace quacks. AI quacks. Market quacks. Grid quacks.

A whole waddle, snooting the world.

Beaks in every headline. Feathers on every balance sheet.

But this week, the ducks were not narrating the news.

They were auditing it.

Every headline arrived as a claim.
Every claim got a ruling.

SkyscraperLove
Two Russian daredevils scaled the Empire State spire, unfurled a peace banner, staged a proposal, and were promptly arrested.

Peace went vertical. Permission stayed grounded.

Romantic? Yes. Legal? No. A 2026 metaphor in safety-risk eyeliner? Absolutely.

Ruling: Moral altitude. Governance basement.

MarketMoodRing
Soft jobs data. Chips dragging the Nasdaq. The Dow at a record anyway. Gold rising with antique confidence. The dollar sliding like it had just been asked a difficult question.

Gold did its ancient job: entered the room looking wise the moment humans lost faith in their spreadsheets.

Ruling: Premium panic. Discounted conviction.

PunctualCapex
AI agents were meant to glide into enterprise life like invisible productivity swans.

Instead, Meta’s Zuckerberg reportedly conceded that agent progress has lagged expectations, even as capex ambition remained muscular.

Not a technology headline.

A corporate haiku.

Ruling: The agent is late. The capex is punctual.

PerspiringCloud
PJM, America’s largest grid operator, braced for peak demand near 166.2 GW as heat and data-centre load leaned on the system.

The cloud, it turns out, needs electricity, cooling, permits, backup capacity, transmission lines, and one exhausted engineer begging everyone to stop saying “frictionless.

Ruling: Digital transformation is perspiring.

UnreconciledLedger
Then came the entry that refused to balance.

Russia said it would keep raising pressure on Ukraine after a heavy strike on Kyiv killed civilians and wrecked homes.

No satire polishes that line.

Some quacks do not deserve wit. They deserve witness.

Ruling: Strategy without humanity is damage wearing a tie.

Reconcile the week see a pattern?

✓Peace as banner.
✓AI as sermon.
✓Markets as mood ring.
✓Power as bottleneck.
✓Leadership as costume jewellery.

The loudest quack was never the story. The story was beneath the waterline:

Quackonomics KtalystKlues

Who benefits?
Who is distracted?
Who exits richer while everyone else applauds the moral lighting?

The world does not need louder peace theatre with better drone footage.

It needs governance with fingerprints.

Because ducks on the skyscraper is not the story.

It is the decoy.

And decoys are excellent at making serious people look away from the table where the piece is actually being cut.
