NamasteIndia saying No to Electric_Vehicals
NDTV states, the Indian government has recently approved the PM_E_Drive Scheme with an outlay of ₹10,900 crore (approximately \$1.31 billion) to boost the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India. This scheme aims to replace the previous FAME programme and will support the deployment of 24.79 lakh electric two-wheelers, 3.16 lakh electric three-wheelers, and 14,028 electric buses. Additionally, it will fund the installation of 88,500 charging sites across the country.
Indian Anna also includes subsidies and demand incentives worth ₹3,679 crore (around \$442 million) to encourage the adoption of various types of EVs, including e-ambulances and e-trucks. However, it notably skips subsidies for electric and hybrid cars.

Despite these efforts, a recent survey by Park+ revealed that 51% of EV owners in major cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore are contemplating a return to petrol or diesel vehicles. The primary reasons cited include:

Charging_Anxiety: 88% of respondents reported anxiety about finding accessible, safe, and functional charging stations.
Maintenance_Costs: 73% found maintenance costs unclear and problematic, with many local mechanics struggling to fix even minor EV issues.
Resale_Value: 33% noted a significant drop in the resale value of their EVs.

These factors contribute to the overall dissatisfaction among EV owners, leading many to consider switching back to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
