For years, we were told AI lives in “the cloud.
How poetic.
How weightless.
How beautifully misleading.
The word “cloud” sounds like digital angels dancing on a fibre-optic pin.
Reality check?
The cloud is not vapor.
It is a very expensive, very loud, very hot room.
Behind every “life-changing” prompt, a data center is doing HIIT without a rest day.
Servers are sweating.
Cooling systems are hyperventilating.
Power grids are checking their blood pressure.
Sustainability teams are updating dashboards.
What’s their Scope2? Inhale compute. Exhale carbon disclosure.
Greenwashing
Nothing says “sustainable future” like building giant digital furnaces and then spending billions to stop them from melting into the crust of the Earth.
EndlessLoop or a new Blackhole?:
✓ GPUs need power.
✓ Power creates heat.
✓ Heat needs cooling.
✓ Cooling needs more power.
✓ More power needs renewables.
✓ Renewables need land.

✓ Is your carbon-neutral claim backed by electrons or enthusiastic font selection?
✓ Is your green investment actually green, or just mint-coloured capex?
✓ Is your AI strategy house-trained, grid-trained, and audit-trained?
The Final Audit
Intelligence may be artificial.
Heat is absolutely real.
The future of AI will not just be coded.
It will be cooled, powered, contracted, metered, financed, and audited.
The cloud is sweating.
Somewhere, a green investor is smiling — not only because they are saving the planet, but because they have understood the oldest gold-rush rule:
